Joey Ventura

Joey was born Joseph Lee Ventura in Brooklyn, New York Halloween night October 31st 1959 weighing 9 lbs 9 oz and was the only survivor of triplets to his Parents Joe and Diane Ventura. He was the last of 6 children. His Father a Lead Singer and Guitarist in a Band during the time he was born. Later his Father became a Metal Sculptor and Oil Painter attending Art Schools in both New York and in California. He also inspired to be an Actor.  His Mother, Diane, was a Writer and very Accomplished Woman that raised her 6 children on her own.  She had a very successful career at Lockheed Martin Aircraft for many years.

At 2 years old his Mother, Father and 5 Siblings moved out West settling outside of Los Angeles in Baldwin Park, California. At a very young age, his Mother Diane allowed him to stay up late one Sunday night to watch the Ed Sullivan Show.  He saw The Beatles for the very first time as did the rest of the world and was mesmerized. Then not too long after that, Ed Sullivan had James Brown on his show and he watched in amazement.

He jumped up on the coffee table and started singing and dancing being told to get down off the coffee table. He right then realized his passion for music, singing, dancing.

After his Family moved to Ontario California, when he was just 5 years old he'd sing every day and imagine himself as being a Huge Radio or Movie Star. After trying out for Corona Elementary School choir one of the teachers picked him out and very quickly realized he had a unique voice.

When he started going to Imperial Jr. High School, he was a bit introverted and extroverted even shy and embarrassed easily at times because he felt like he didn't matter to anyone. He was suddenly very excited about having Metal Shop where it was very easy to him. His shop teacher would allow his pupils to pick their own assignments from easiest to advanced and he'd always pick the most advanced and would receive an A.

During Joey's freshman year, his English teacher Miss Price recognized Joey's talent for writing stories and after she read them she would grade them hand the assignment back to him but then say she'd like it back for her to keep. Never thinking twice he'd just say ok. One day she asked Joey to stay after class and he thought he was in trouble for smoking weed before class. Instead she surprised him by asking him instead of doing the spelling test like everyone else, she wanted him to write his stories using the spelling words and he was very excited about it.

After High School, he applied for the Military and was turned down because he didn't Graduate. His brother-in-law told Joey to ask to be given an aptitude test.  The Military gladly accepted him after scoring very high on the test. He joined the Army Corps of Engineers. When he arrived there he met his roommates later one taught him how to play guitar.

He purchased a second hand guitar and started learning cords and how to tune it.  He was heavily influenced by Bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Foghat, Frank Zappa, King Crimson, The Who, T-Rex, Kansas, Van Halen, Journey, Rush, Rod Stewart and ELO.

Discharged from the ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS where he earned a Humanitarian Medal of Honor.

The next day woke up had some breakfast and wrote his very first song "Enough Is Enough" never imagining all these years later that Vinny Appice would be playing Drums on it. He has continued to write for all these years later. He has been in many Bands, writing most of the material in his original Bands. Playing in Hollywood alongside Great Band's such as Great White, The Bullet Boys, Poison, Black 'N Blue, Steeler, Keel, Tiger, No Sugar and Mutiny.

Then later opening up for Great Artists such as Ronnie James DIO, Slashes Snake Pit and Missing Persons and so close to making it in the Music Industry but it never came to fruition. He was in several Bands and his first band was called Blue Ruins then Strange Behavior, Megan, The Mange, Scavenger, BERDOO, Games, Led Zep Again, Led Heaven, and Leaded Zeppelin.

His Uncle Joe was a very successful Actor that had been in Huge Films such as "The Magnificent 7" and many more alongside such Acting Great's as Clint Eastwood, Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Humphrey Bogart and so many more. His Uncle Joe and Joey would be like magnets at family functions and would be inseparable. He would always tell Joey stories about all the fun and crazy things that happened on the sets and with certain Actors. And he would always say that he should become an actor or at least try it that he might like it. His Uncle Joe would say he felt like Joey had what it takes to become a successful Actor. So shortly then after of his Uncle Joe's passing Joey went out on a cold call audition and landed his very first Acting job from his very first audition.

Within one month he was on an Internationally Syndicated Court TV Show called "Justice With Judge Mablean". His agent was very surprised saying doesn't remember any of her talent making it on T.V. that quickly. Then he went on his second cold call audition, again getting the part in a comedy short called "The Customer Is Always Right" which can be found on YouTube. Joey realized that Acting, Singing, playing Drums and Guitar are some of his passions.

In 2019 Joey moved East to the Cleveland. He moved about 25 minutes east of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Then he started his first solo Album "Dragon Lady" where he recorded it at Amalon Entertainment. At Frank and Lisa'd's Studio. He went straight into starting his second album, “Miss Universe”.
